Our Children
Our children are affectionately called "unique kids" a phrase that readily applies to all children. Infants, children, youth and young adults with neuro-developmental disabilities have experienced an injury in utero or after birth, or their disability may be the result of genetics.
Neuro-developmental disabilities include but are not limited to the following (for more details access the menu to the right of the screen): autism, asperger's syndrome, attention deficit disorder, cerebral palsy, dyslexia, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, communication disorders, learning disabilities, intellectual impairments and combinations.
Nanaimo Unique Kids Organization has received funding from Service Canada to support completion of the survey and assess needs and resources.
For a more complete list of neuro-developmental disabilities with descriptions in lay terms, please contact our office (250.390.8143) and speak with our project staff.
